As a responsible caring breeder taking the future of this noble breed into my hands is a fact I undertake very seriously.Â
Bringing puppies into this world that would not otherwise have been born gives me a deep feeling of responsibility for the quality of
their life & certainly does not end when they go to their new homes. Every litter I produce will effect the breed as a whole, and each
litter is carefully planned with much research on pedigrees including longevity, health and conformation, as improving the breed is
my ultimate goal.
We are very strong supporters of limited registration and spay or neuter & NEVER sell adults/puppies
to brokers or as "breeders" NO EXCEPTIONS so please do not ask.
All Show Potential puppies are sold on Co-Ownerships unless a SERIOUS PROVEN show home, co-ownerships are at our discretion.
As Members of the GDCA we breed PURE COLOR fawn & brindle & adhere to the GDCA Breeders Color Code of Ethics therefore we
DO NOT allow our puppies to be cross color bred. We DO NOT allow our dogs/puppies to be bred to Euro Imports as we have been
working many years to have long clean headpieces, strong rears with correct turn of stifle & length of leg (to name a few areas) and
these are 3 areas MOST Euro bred dogs do not excel in, this is not intended as an insult to anyone so please do not take it as such.
     My Breeding program, each dog in it, and every puppy produced by it is very important to me and to have a healthy, long lived,
companion is priority # 1 after-all even show dogs are companions 90% of their lives, they sleep in our beds,
chill on our couch, and live with our families, RIGHT!
I breed for myself but once I have chosen my "keeper(s)" the rest of this carefully researched & planned litter must be placed in
forever homes so remember even companions were, in essence, bred for me.
     I am a staunch believer that overall health & temperament are inherited, although, both can be affected by environment, and
health by environment as well as nutrition, therefore we feed RAW FOODS through a PREY MODEL diet & recommend it for use on all
of our dogs/puppies but if you do not feel comfortable with feeding this way we will help you transition your puppy to a high quailty
kibble such as Blue Buffalo, TOTW, Earthborn, or Precise.
We do health testing, OFA for Heart and Hips (Hips via OFA or Penn Hip) each dog has at least these 2 tests, completed before
breeding.   A written guarantee for certain inherited health issues is given with each Shady Creek Puppy
(e-mail if you are interested in a puppy & we will send you the contract/agreement/guarantee for you to review.)

EAR CROPPING ( $300 )
SHOW POTENTIAL puppies can be cropped
we prefer COMPANION puppies ears remain natural , if you insist your companion is cropped,
it must be done before leaving and will be done at your RISK.
(RISK = puppy must be paid in full before cropping if lost during cropping there is NO REFUND)

Cropping is a very personal decision, and ear after care is allot of work,
& some puppies need ears taped until they are nearly 2 years old, if a new owner feels
that the after care may be too much to deal with better to leave the puppy natural.
Better natural than cropped and not taped until standing!!!

Now that you are more familiar with our Policies and Expectations there are a few questions
we would like for you to answer before being considered as a potential owner.

If you want to add a loving
pet to your family
PLEASE consider RESCUE first.

1. All puppies are raised inside our home with our family. We do not use outdoor kennels. Our Danes are first and foremost our family pets. All puppies are socialized with our other dogs including a small peke. They are each handled, loved on, and when old enough played with every day. References are available from previous puppy buyers.

2. All puppies will be checked by a licensed veterinarian although we do our own vaccinations to avoid exposing the puppies to sick animals. The puppies will go home with their first vaccinations (Intervet Proguard 5) and bordetella. They are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. All puppies will also be microchipped prior to leaving. We recommend starting your puppy on Heartworm preventative at 3 months of age.

3. Companion puppies are  sold on limited registration (NO EXCEPTIONS) and are required to be spayed/neutered no sooner than 12 months of age no later than 18 months.

4. Show Potential puppies will be sold on a show contract and a co-ownership (NO EXCEPTIONS). Once your Shady Creek dane has finished his/her AKC championship I/We will sign off of the AKC papers. Please e-mail for details & contract.

5. All puppies are required to be registered with the AKC, American Kennel Club, we do not endorse any other registry except the Canadian Kennel Club. You will be supplied with AKC registration papers.

6. All our puppies are to be sold as pets first and we encourage everyone to try as many venues with their dogs as they feel comfortable. Training is a great way to bond with your puppy even if you never obtain any titles. Obedience training is a MUST for a Dane puppy and all puppy buyers will be required to do at least a 6 wk Beginner Obedience class or a Puppy Kindergarten class.

7. Pet Puppies vs Show Puppies
A bit of clarification on pet vs show. I have many inquiries of people wanting a show quality dog for a pet because somehow the misconception is that the show puppy is going to be better. Conformationally yes, there is a reason I will classify them as a pet but it is very unlikely that a novice or pet owner will be able to tell the difference between the different puppies. I try to match each puppy by personality to their new families, after all even if it is to be shown you have to live with it the rest of the time.

$250 non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your choice of a puppy, deposits are accepted once pregnancy is confirmed by ultrasound, upon reciept of deposit references will be checked. If for any reason there isn't  a puppy of requested sex/quality available then your deposit can be refunded or put towards a future litter. If we are not completely happy with your references we will refund your deposit. These are the only reasons the deposit will be refunded.

As the breeders of the puppies will also do the following. We will be available 24/7 for any and all questions that may come up regarding your puppy. We will be here for the life of the puppy if for any reason at ANY time in its life you are no longer able to keep your puppy then it  is to be returned to us so we can assure proper placement. We will be honest and straight forward with any questions and/or concerns that you may have about your puppy. Our puppy buyers are an extention of our family and we encourage our Puppy Families to send updates and pictures for the life of the puppy.
